As requested by my sister here is my list of recent films that I’ve seen and my opions thereof.

The short version is Thor=Kung Fu Pandas 2 > Green Lantern = Pirates 4 > X-Men First Class >>>>>>>>>>>>> Hangover 2

Right, to go through in the order I saw them.

Thor 3D Good fun over the top first half.  Great casting for Thor. All together a really fun romp.  About X-men 2 good.

The Hangover 2 What I expected tbh.  Bad predicable jokes and far too slapstick for my taste.  Nuff said.

Pirates of the Carribean: On Strange Tides Not as good as Curse of black pearl better than Worlds end.  Was good fun and exactly what I expected from a pirates film.  Saw in 2D as from the trailers it looked like badly done post production 3D.

X-Men First Class The casting and acting for Magneto and Proff X where absolutly fantastic.  Got a great feel for these characters and saw the mantra that run through all X-Men comics come out (Proff X is a dick). Problems with it were the opening half took far too long and it almost felt like a b-list of X-Men.  Also the Hellfire club, a great antagonist org boiled down to Shaw, Emma Frost and mooks who got no personality as too many other characters to develop.  A real pity.  Still a good film mind and good fun.

Green Lantern The opening voiceover is incredibly cheesy and brings home just how ridiculous the whole Green Lantern idea is.  However the film is still good fun.  Sinestro is a great piece of casting.  Has really fun action sequences and does a good job of showing how the Green Lanterns powers look.  All in all a fun film.  Didn’t watch 3D as heard was badly done.

Kung Fu Panda 2 3D I loved the first film but was very hesitant as had no idea where they could go with second due to power creep.  However I was pleasantly surprised.  The Peacock villain was fantastic and the 3D was well done.  The film managed to be original and also really good fun.  Some of it was kinda predicable but that is pretty much a staple of the martial arts film.  All in all a good film.

Kinda stuck as to what to watch next week, I know little Rob wants to see Transformers 3 so may end up seeing that but not holding any hope of it being good. (How many other people felt huge disappointment in the cinema when watching the trailer and directed by Micheal Bay came on?)
